Eagle Group presents a beautiful collection of Assamese handloom products like Mekhela Chadar Saree, Saree and Handmade Bell & Brass Metal Gift Set. Our team is committed to preserve and celebrate our culture & tradition.
MEKHELA CHADAR is the indigenous traditional Assamese saree worn by Assamese women. Being a two-piece saree, it looks amazing and is fairly easy to drape. The bottom portion, draped from the waist downwards, is called the Mekhela. It is a wide cylindrical piece cloth that is folded into one or two pleats to fit around the waist and tucked in. The top portion of the two- pieces dress, called the Chadar, is a long piece of cloth that has one end tucked into the upper portion of the Mekhela above the belly button and the rest is draped around the chest and back. Mekhela Chadar looks similar to saree, easier to wear and handloom motifs are more attractive compared to any other apparel of the category.
BELL & BRASS METAL PRODUCTS:
Assamese Bell Metal is one of the oldest cottage industries of Assam. These products are famous all over India and can be found in almost every Assamese household. Due to the durability and utility nature of brass and bell metal, items made of these materials are very popular among the natives. People of ancient India had been using utensils made of bell, brass and copper metals due to their health friendly advantages- stomach problem, life taking diseases like cancer etc. caused by aluminium, plastic and few other such materials can be evaded by using bell metal. Our team of artisans have used their outstanding skills to introduce a Gift and Dinner Set under the brand EAGLE TRADITION with attractive packaging for personal use and occasions like Annaprasanna/ Wedding ceremony etc.
